Day Two - Invitation to Live Chosen
Psalm 77: 14-20
“You are the God of miracles and wonders! You still demonstrate your awesome power. You have redeemed us who are the sons of Jacob and of Joseph by your might. When the Red Sea saw you, how it feared! It trembled to its depths! The clouds poured down their rain, the thunder rolled and crackled in the sky. Your lightning flashed. There was thunder in the whirlwind; the lightning lighted up the world! The earth trembled and shook. Your road led by a pathway through the sea—a pathway no one knew was there! You led your people along that road like a flock of sheep, with Moses and Aaron as their shepherds.”
My Lesson~ Oh, to live in a world of wonder! Bella has helped me to see how much of creation is such a gift -- by simply watching her. Outside is her happy place. A bug walking on the ground, What’s that? Why does it move? What happens if I bite it? Deep green blades of green grass growing in the sunshine, It’s so soft, I think I’ll lay down and roll right here! A leaf falling from the tree. Hey, what’s this? Something for me to chase. What happens if I hop on it? Hmm… why doesn’t it move any longer?
This puppy lives with her eyes wide open. Because of this, I too see beauty around me that I would normally not take the time to see or acknowledge. The way the sun makes the deep red leaves sparkle with vibrancy, the delicious smell of fresh autumn breezes, and the beautiful sounds of the birds singing their hallelujah. Sit with me here for a moment. Be amazed that with all this beauty our Father has created, and consider how He has chosen us -- these broken vessels -- to be loved and used for His Glory and purposes. Wow!
I’m reminded of Psalm 8: 3-4, “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him?” Talk about something of wonderment! Oh that I would live with my eyes wide open to see Him at work moment by moment.
Prayer~ Father, won’t you please plant deeply in my heart what it means to be loved and chosen by You. I praise you that You are the same yesterday, today and forever. Help me live in the Wonder of who You are. Give me eyes to see You and where You are at work. Guide my thoughts, actions, words and deeds today that I may reflect You and Your beauty.
Invitation~ Today, I will live in the knowledge that I’m God’s chosen and loved child. In light of this, how will it affect the choices I make today? Finally, I’ll walk with my eyes wide open to see Him.
(The photo is of a tree in our community I took just a 2 days ago that obviously is a late bloomer. :) I was struck by the beauty of the "carpet" covering the ground.)
